Briefing on the UN Water Conference in Kuwait

On March 8, 2023, a briefing on preparations for the UN Conference on the Midterm Review of the Water Decade (March 22-24, 2023, New York) was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the State of Kuwait with the participation of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kuwait Laurens Westhoff and Permanent Representative of the UN Secretary General in the country of residence, Dr. Assad Hafeez.
During the conference, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan Z.Zubaydzoda gave brief information on the UN Water Conference in 2023 and informed the participants about the global initiatives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Emomali Rahmon in the field of water, especially the International Decade of Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028”.
During his speech, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands also expressed appreciation for his country’s co-chairmanship with Tajikistan and cooperation in this area, as well as the country’s global initiatives on water issues.
The Representative of the UN in the State of Kuwait, in turn, spoke about the importance of the Water Conference and its ideas, and praised the successful co-chairing of the Republic of Tajikistan in the preparation for this Conference.
The briefing was held with the presence of a wide range of media representatives of the State of Kuwait.
