Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets the EU Commissioner

On October 23, 2023, on the sidelines of the meeting of the foreign ministers of Central Asia and the European Union countries, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin and the European Union Commissioner for International Partnerships Jutta Urpilainen.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of cooperation between the two parties including the joining of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Generalised Scheme of Preferences of the EU (GSP+) and the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.
During the discussion of regional cooperation, Sirojiddin Muhriddin pointed to the hydropower potential of Tajikistan, raw materials and human resources and asked to take into account the above factors while implementing the Global Gateway initiative of the European Union.
